Visit of Spanish Teachers from CEIP Ferrer y Racaj to Our Consortium Schools

We were delighted to welcome three Spanish teachers, Raul, Alberto, and Eva, from CEIP Ferrer y Racaj in Ejea de los Caballeros, Spain, as part of a job shadowing program. During their visit, our colleagues had the opportunity to explore all the schools in our consortium, learn about our educational practices, and share valuable experiences.

Visit to the 5th Primary School of Florina “Theodoros Kastanos”

On Tuesday, November 26th, the students of Grades 2 and 3 warmly welcomed the Spanish guests with songs in Greek, English, and Spanish, prepared by their music teacher, Iris Papakonstantinou. The visiting teachers presented their school, flag, and city to the Grades 5 and 6, while the 5th Grade performed traditional carols from Ikaria and Crete. Together with Areti Oikonomidou, they co-created a Greek-Spanish song using artificial intelligence, experimenting with different music styles such as opera, pop, and rap. In the afternoon, they visited the school’s robotics club, led by the teacher Giannis Arvanitakis.

Visit to the Experimental Primary School of Florina

On Wednesday, November 27th, the students of Grade 3 sang in Spanish, guided by music teacher Iris Papakonstantinou and their teacher Alexis Tsioulis. In Grade 6, the Spanish educators presented their school and region and discussed with the students and their teacher Kyriaki Amarantidou various topics about their school’s operation. Prepared by the English teacher Smaro Papapantazi, the students gave the guests a guided tour of the school. Later, the visitors participated in an artificial intelligence lesson with grade 4 using the Google Teachable Machine platform.

In the afternoon, the Spanish teachers visited the Junior Hackers club, where they observed primary school students programming F1 vehicles, and middle school students working on their projects for the Vodafone Generation Next competition.

Visit to the Primary Schools of Ydroussa and Vevi

On Thursday, November 28th, the Spanish educators observed a Greek language lesson in Grade 3, conducted through an interactive game focusing on verb tense replacements, and an English class in Grade 6, which utilized an interactive screen in the multipurpose hall.

In Vevi, the visitors observed Thymio Robotics programming, participated in 3D printing activities, and joined a multilingual musical performance in Greek, Spanish, and English with the Grades 5 and 6.

Visits to Local Landmarks

The Spanish teachers also visited the Alpha Estate winery and the bear sanctuary of Arcturos in Nymfaio.

This visit strengthened collaborative relationships and opened new horizons for future educational exchanges. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved!
