Hosting Group Student Mobility in Florina

From May 19th to 23rd, 2025, our Cultural Heritage Art and Innovation Consortium in Florina proudly hosted a group student mobility event that brought together students and teachers from across Europe. Welcoming 45 students and 10 teachers from Istituto Comprensivo 20, Bologna and Thomas More School, Palermo (Italy), Publiczna Szkoła Podstawowa im. Polskich Noblistów, Walim (Poland), and École Saint Julien, Landernau (France), alongside 26 local students from our consortium schools (Experimental Primary School of Florina, 5th Primary School of Florina “Theodoros Kastanos”, Primary School of Vevi, and Primary School of Ydrousa), this mobility week was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate shared learning, culture, and creativity.

The week kicked off with a warm welcome and engaging outdoor activities at Florina’s former Zoo Park, setting the tone for teamwork and new friendships. Students then showcased their schools and hometowns during a welcome ceremony at the Municipality Amphitheatre, complemented by traditional songs and dances.

Two enriching field trips took students deeper into the region’s natural and cultural heritage. In Prespes, they explored local myths and created temporary artworks inspired by nature, while a visit to Arktouros offered firsthand insights into protected habitats for bears, wolves, and lynxes, fostering a spirit of environmental stewardship.

The program also included a range of interactive activities: from creative art, music, and dance workshops at the Experimental Primary School of Florina to cultural presentations and lively city tours. The students from Walim, Landernau, Bologna, and Palermo not only shared their cultures with their hosts but also experienced the rich traditions and community life of Florina through homestays and collaborative projects.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the students and teachers for their openness, curiosity, and vibrant energy throughout the week. This mobility reinforced the power of cross-cultural collaboration, fostering lifelong connections and shared memories. As the visiting groups departed for Thessaloniki, they left behind new friendships, creative inspiration, and a renewed sense of European citizenship.
