In April 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming two teachers from École Saint Julien Landernau in France as part of a job shadowing mobility program within our CHAIN consortium. Their week-long visit offered an enriching blend of observation, cultural exploration, and collaborative learning, strengthening the bonds between our schools and fostering a shared vision for innovation in education.

The program began with a guided tour of our rural schools in Vevi and Ydrousa, where our guests experienced how small schools in remote villages integrate environmental awareness, sustainability, and renewable energy into their daily practices. This exchange provided valuable insights into local teaching approaches and challenges.
On Tuesday, our visitors joined an environmental education activity in the forested hills of Vevi. Students, teachers, and guests explored local ecosystems and biodiversity in a project designed by the Hub of Environmental Education in Florina. In the evening, they observed the Educational Robotics Club at the 5th Primary School of Florina, where students work in teams to solve challenges using Lego Spike Prime, practicing computational thinking and teamwork.
Wednesday included a visit to the Experimental Primary School of Florina, where they observed teacher training activities and joined a design workshop with 4th graders, focused on creating innovative playground games through design thinking, 3D printing, and programming. In the evening, they explored the Hackers Club and Maker Lab, witnessing firsthand how students prepare for competitions like F1 in Schools and engage in advanced maker projects.
On Thursday, our guests participated in a cultural workshop at the Public Library of Florina and joined an innovative technology activity at the Hub for Innovation in Education, where students created automated smart homes using sensors and programming.
The program concluded on Friday with visits to the 5th Primary School of Florina and the Experimental Primary School of Florina, providing a look into inclusive teaching practices and how university students collaborate with teachers to enrich the arts in the classroom.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the visiting teachers from École Saint Julien Landernau for their openness, curiosity, and insightful exchanges throughout the week. This job shadowing mobility deepened our mutual understanding, strengthened professional networks, and inspired new ideas for future collaboration within the CHAIN consortium.
